Words change over time and the meaning that people give to them change also. Religion and modern society have also change language and the meaning of words. To get back to the root of what the prophet Jesus meant when he was walking the earth I propose the following.
When reading the new testament change the words God, Christ and Jesus to Love. In doing this you let go of the personality and come closer to the original meaning of what was meant.
For example John 14:6 "“Lord,” said Thomas, “we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. 7If you had known Me, you would know My Father as well. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him.”
It will new read like the following: “Love is the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Love. 7If you had known Love, you would know My Father as well. From now on you do know Love and have seen Him.”
This is also more inline with what people experience during a Near Death experience. Your believes and religion does not matter at all but only how much Love and Kindness you radiated.
